With the recent introduction of Facebook Ranks, AppData's Facebook Developer MAU values have dramatically changed. This page explains why. Previously Facebook reported either exact or rounded MAU values. Lets consider what this means in the case of Zynga's applications. This meant that an app like FarmVille 2 would have a mau of 43 million. And another of Zynga's apps, Texas Hold'em Poker, would have a mau of 34 million. After the ranking changes, both of these apps would fall into the 10 million MAU bucket. Thus a composite MAU of 77 million will now be reported as a composite MAU of 10 million. Please keep in mind that this is only a reporting change. Zynga today is exactly the same as Zynga yesterday.
